The Best Spicy Skinny Margarita Recipe Ever
Ohhh how we love a good Spicy Skinny Margarita! It's spicy, it's skinny - just like us, right?! Ha! maybe the spicy part, but we digress...the important part is that it's delicious and our favorite drink that we order everywhere we go, so we've made up our own recipe with all the perfect parts.
The first part is to splurge on a good Blanco tequila (thats the white one, for you no-espagnol Bettes.) Since we are basically just like George Clooney and Rande Gerber, we love Casamigos, but there are so many delicioso tequilas out there, just pick one that you love too. We also heard that Tequila is an anti-inflammatory and won't leave you with a headache the next day so it's basically healthy for you :) However, we have tested that theory and it turns out that maybe that second part is false when you start ordering more than a few.
Our second secret ingredient is Tajin, which is a Mexican seasoning. If you are lucky enough to live close to the border like us, you will find it in just about every grocery store. Otherwise Amazon will save the day, yet again.
Next find yourself some yummy Habenero infused honey. Everyone loves the bees right now so there are so many local honey-makers but our favorite is from San Diego Honey Company. It also tastes amazing as a dip on a charcuterie board!
And finally, you must use fresh ingredients! We know it's annoying to juice limes, but honestly it tastes better and the "skinny" part means no sugary margarita mix, so it's a must-have.
1. muddle 1/2 a Jalapeno & 1/2 a cup of fresh Lime juice
2. Add some Habenero infused honey and stir
3. line the rim of a glass with tajin
4. fill with ice and add 2.5 shots of clear tequila (blanco, silver)
5. add the lime juice/honey/jalepeno mix
6. Stir it up & garnish with a fresh slice of lime
